PEGGY GOU STYLES THIS SEASON’S 501® JEANS AND TAKES OVER BERLIN

DJ-producer Peggy Gou is known to bring disco-laden house beats to massive crowds across the globe. But she also attracts a sartorially-minded fanbase who look to the Berlin-based sonic sensation for endless style inspo. And for good reason. Before Peggy was an international name on the music scene, she spent her formative years working in fashion, honing a distinctive high-impact yet low-key POV. This “Harper’s Bazaar” Korea alum shifts her style persona depending on the day and the country she’s currently in. Although she favors laid-back streetwear and athleisure-inspired looks for her performances, she turns up the volume with neon hues, proportion play and emulation-worthy idiosyncratic pairings. Her full spectrum style really comes to life when she’s off-duty—think pajama-inspired separates, Y2K-esque going out tops teamed with relaxed denim and matchy-matchy ensembles in candy colors and tantalizing textures. 

While it might be difficult to pin down her look to one definition, her fluid style philosophy is similar to her musical methodology of taking elements that inspire her and adding her own unique vibe to it. “When somebody asks me, ‘How would you describe your music? How would you describe your style?’ it’s hard to explain where it comes from. My music has house music, disco and techno elements, but when I put all the sounds together it becomes my style,” she explains. “When someone asks me about my style, I feel the same way, I don’t know how to describe it. Maybe it’s more fun to not and just let other people describe it? It’s more interesting to see what other people think of my art and my style.”
