July 2024
Choosing the perfect jeans is not an easy task, as there are a large number of different cuts, some of which are very similar. The two best known, and perhaps most commonly confused, are skinny cut and slim cut jeans.
Check out our guide and learn the difference between skinny jeans and slim jeans to help you choose your next favourite pair of jeans!
What are Skinny Jeans?
Skinny jeans are very close-fitting jeans. The term skinny jeans conjures the idea of a second skin, a pair of very tight jeans that hug the hips, legs and ankles. Skinny jeans are usually made from a stretchy cotton and elastane fabric. They are also often cited as a fashionable or trendy accessory to have in your jeans collection.
At Levi's we have an incredible collection of skinny jeans for both men and women: from high-waisted to mid-rise skinny jeans in a range of colours, blue or black, white or grey. If you're looking for jeans that fit even more closely and show off your curves to the fullest, take a look at our collection of super skinny jeans for an increased body-hugging effect!
Who Can Wear Skinny Jeans?
Skinny jeans are generally better suited to H-shape body types and thin, slender people.
What are Slim Jeans?
Slim jeans are tight, but not as tight as skinny jeans. They are closely fitted around the hips and legs but leave a slight opening at the ankles. These jeans are much more flattering to the majority of body shapes, and are perfect for slimming your silhouette and following the line of your body while showing it off. Being less form fitting, they may be slightly more comfortable if you don't like jeans that are tight at the ankles.
Just like skinny jeans, we love slim jeans on the Levi's website. We have a large collection of low-rise, mid-rise and high-waisted slim jeans for both men and women. Check out the different colours we offer, from black slim jeans to blue, white or grey slim jeans.
Who Can Wear Slim Jeans?
Slim jeans are for everyone and suit almost all body shapes, especially A- and H-shape body types, with a straighter cut to lengthen your legs.
