TRUCKER 101
Everything you ever wanted to know about our world-famous Trucker Jacket (and probably a little bit more than you wanted to know) is right here in this article. Discover the difference between our Original Truckers and the newer iterations, and find the one that’s right for you. Read on to get this show on the road–pun intended.
Original Trucker
So The Original Trucker is kind of a big deal. How much of a big deal? Well, it became the template for all jean jackets ever…so it’s pretty significant. Spoiler alert: We’re about to mention a point collar, V stitching, welt pockets, button front, hem adjusters and flap chest pockets a whole lot in this article. Mainly because those iconic elements that define the look of the Orignal Trucker are present in some form or another in most of our Trucker assortment. Plus, it comes in sherpa (yay!) which is worth mentioning because it adds another layer of versatility to an already crazy wearable jacket.
’90s Trucker
Alright, so we’ve already established our deeply felt love for the ’90s. Great. Same page. So then let’s get going establishing our love for the ’90s trucker. Let’s start with this: The fit. A rounded drop shoulder leads into a long, rounded sleeve then narrows at the waist for an old-school bubble kind of look. It’s oversized too to achieve that perfect vintage slouchy vibe. Next, the look. We kept the classic Trucker trappings here: the flap pockets, button front, and the “V” seaming in the front. The great thing here is that it’s already kind of vintage-y and worn in looking so imagine how cool it’ll look when it *actually* starts to show signs of wear.
Ex-Boyfriend Trucker
The great thing about this style is that the name itself really tells you much of what you need to know. “Ex-Boyfriend,” read: slouchy worn-in boy fit you try to find in the store, but can’t find, and end up stealing from the man in your life anyways. So what is that fit? It’s big—like a subtle slightly oversized—but with a slouchy shoulder, longer sleeves, and an extra long hem. It’s got the Trucker stuff you know and love—the “V” seaming, the flap pockets and the button cuff and hem—plus it’s lightweight enough to layer. Or heavy enough to not layer if you opt for the cozy sherpa-lined version.
Hybrid Original Trucker
Have you ever wondered what it would look like if you’re favorite comfy hoodie and your favorite Trucker jacket had a baby? Well, wonder no more because the Hybrid Original Tucker is just that. We’ve got trucker vibes up front with the button flap pockets, v-front seaming, and button front. We even kept the point collar to stay true to our roots. But here’s where we shake things up. We added a drawstring adjustable hood (oooh cozy) and soft non-denim sleeves with a ribbed knit cuff. And voila “joodie!” Wait, no….“hacket?” Ok, well whatever you call it, it’s comfy cozy and cool all rolled into one.
XL Trucker
This one is a statement-maker. It’s over the top in the best way possible. So what’s bringing the drama, you ask? The XL Truckers bold fit starts with our most oversized, loose construction. The big fit brings scaled-up details including oversized front flap pockets, deeper welt pockets and bigger hem adjusters. Traditional point collar, “V” seaming and button front keep this look grounded in classic Levi’s® heritage, meaning this Trucker comes with all the versatility, ease and effortless cool of the original.
