HOW TO MAKE HAND-EMBROIDERED FLOWERS

Stop and stitch the flowers. Here at Levi’s, we love to add DIY customization to our favorite denim pieces. In this tutorial, our tailor Jen Sharkey shows us how to embroider a simple floral pattern by hand.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Denim piece of your choice
- Needle
- Embroidery thread in different colors
- Scissors
- Bottle caps
- Chalk
STEP 1
Decide on the location of your design, and trace around the bottle cap with chalk. Make sure to mark a small dot at the center of the circle.
STEP 2
Start your stitch at the backside of the fabric in the middle of the circle.
STEP 3
Create a small stitch at the outer circle and bring it back to the center to create a petal shape.
STEP 4
Repeat this process to create four petals in the shape of a cross.
STEP 5
Add as many petals in between the main four petals to form a floral design.
STEP 6
Using a new piece of thread in a different color, you’ll create the center part of the flower. Create small stitches in the middle to form a circle.
STEP 7
Add a knot at the backside of the fabric to secure your new design.
STEP 8
Marvel at your new floral design!
