Levi’s® and Shepard Fairey — the celebrated artist and social activist — came together to transform our most iconic piece of outerwear into a symbol of peace and hope for a brighter future. These one-of-a-kind Trucker Jackets are only available on the Levi’s® app in limited quantities.
About the Artist
OBEY founder and world-famous graphic artist, Shepard Fairey is best known for street art campaigns that make us question our environment and the status quo. Some of his most well-known pieces include Andre the Giant stickers and the iconic Barack Obama “Hope” poster which came to symbolize his 2008 presidential campaign. Fairey is also an avid social activist, producing and donating artwork to promote awareness of pressing issues and support humanitarian concerns.
Behind the Design
Shepard and Levi’s® design team combined techniques like embroidery, screen printing and fabric-printed paneling to treat these Trucker Jackets — but we’ll let him speak for himself:
“This Peace Guard illustration serves as a reminder that pushing for peace, ironically, requires a militant vigilance itself. I love the juxtaposition of seemingly contradictory symbols. Peace is victory without war. We need to move forward and embrace justice and equality rather than moving backward by stoking hate and division.” — Shepard Fairey
For a Great Cause
All proceeds from these Trucker jackets will go to the ACLU, which has spent the last 100 years fighting in the courts, statehouses and Congress to defend the rights that the Constitution guarantees to all of us.
